ABC 23 News Update

Two out of the five head start centers here are closing leaving ninety six kids without a place to go and fourteen people without a job. The Cambria County Head Start Program serves about four hundred and fifty children a year. They provide to those who come from impoverished families with not only a Pre K education but a meal and safe place to stay. But come June 1st head starts across the country will see a five point three percent decrease in federal funding. For Cambria County that means a loss of one hundred and seventy seven thousand dollars and less seats in the classroom.
