Blair County is shutting down -- 90 employee, most long time workers will soon be out of a job. The company is a distributor to restaurants, health institutions, and schools in the area -- but financial problems have forced lee food to shut its doors. The c-e-o is currently working on a time line for the closure.
Business leaders say they're discouraged. President and CEO Robert Donaldson says after reviewing loans with their bank, liquidation is the best option. This news comes on the heels of two other closures in Blair County. Recently, 78 Allstate employees at an express claim office lost their jobs, and F.L. Smithe in Duncansville is now in the process of moving it's plant to Green Bay Wisconsin. There's no word on the status of their employees.
