Bookmaking charges have been filed against two Johnstown men. Police say 66-year-old Leonard Anthony Barber and 60-year-old Walter Andrew Polodak of East Conemaugh arraigned Tuesday.
Officials from the state police Bureau of Criminal Investigation say they took illegal bets on sporting events and the Pennsylvania Lottery. The investigation began after Cambria County District Attorney Patrick Kiniry received a tip concerning alleged bookies.
Investigators said they found parlay cards and football betting slips in Barbers garbage.
During a search warrant at Barber's home, police say they found a betting slip on his kitchen table, and believe they took in about $800 a week and are considered small players.
