A frightening weekend for a Stoystown woman, who spent the night trapped inside her car.
Police say Stacey Gryskiewicz swerved to miss a deer Friday night, her vehicle plunged down a 100-foot embankment and into a creek. Gryskiewicz was trapped inside.
A hunter who was headed to his tree stand, spotted her car and called 911 after realizing someone was inside.
Gryskiewicz was rescued and taken to Memorial Medical Center, she was listed in fair condition on Sunday with injuries to her face and chest.
Police said the accident happened about 9 p.m. Friday on Mostoller Road, she was found Saturday morning about 6:15.
Gryskiewicz was able to keep her Ford Explorer running and turned up the head and covered herself with a blanket.
Police say she is very lucky, if the vehicle has rolled one more time, she would have been trapped upside down in the water, and likely wouldn't have survived.
