The Penn State men’s ice hockey team held their final practice at Pegula Ice Arena today before heading to St. Louis for their first ever trip to the Frozen 4.
Since joining Division 1 back in 2012, Penn State has never made it this far until now.
The Nittany Lions entered the NCAA Tournament as the lowest seed in their region.
They upset top-seeded Maine with a 5-1 win, scoring four unanswered goals after falling behind early.
In the next round, they defeated Uconn 3-2 in overtime thanks to a game-winning goal from Matt Dimarsico.
“You know what honestly, I think it’s I think it’s business as usual the guys really enjoy coming the rink and and they really have a great time working out.”
Penn State will now face Boston University in the National Semifinals this Thursday at 8:30 p.m. In St. Louis. A win would send them to the National Championship Game for the first time in program history.
