As we continue to get closer to November, Centre County’s Election Board met Today to discuss updates to this year’s process.

During the meeting on Tuesday, the Centre County Board of Elections approved the updated mail in ballot instructions for the upcoming Presidential Election.
This after a lawsuit took place earlier this year in Centre County surrounding how the mail in ballots were dated.
“We just want to make sure that it’s as easy as possible for folks who are voting by mail to follow the instructions and we’ve also included the year, on the envelopes, this time so that there’s not going to be any confusion
about whether or not people have entered the correct year.”
Some residents raised questions about the election process. One State College resident asked the board how they plan to keep non citizens out of the voting process.
“There’s some Townships and Municipalities that allow non citizens to vote in local elections so my question is, if they’re using the same ballot, to vote in the local election as they would in the National Election, what is
there to prevent them from filling out the whole ballot, and if they do that, who’s there to prevent that from being counted in the total count.”
After asking the board about this, Commissioner’s said they don’t believe this is an issue in Pennsylvania.
