Officials with the Altoona Area School District say they are reviewing safety and security protocols following an incident involving a taser during a recent high school football game.
Authorities say on Friday a student was discovered to be in possession of said taser during Altoona’s season opening game against Hollidaysburg at Mansion Park Stadium.
Several witnesses have shared video of the incident on social media which appears to show a school district officer confronting the student.
A district spokesperson says that stadium security policies are being reviewed and are likely to be updated.
The identity of the student is not being released and Altoona School Police Services are investigating the incident.
