Authorities in Jefferson County say a homicide investigation is underway following a shooting in Clover Township Thursday.
According to a news release, troopers were dispatched for reports that an unidentified man had shot another individual and then fled the scene.
Police say when troopers arrived on scene, the suspect had reportedly returned and led authorities on a foot chase.
Troopers say the suspect was apprehended and is currently in police custody.
Authorities say there is no threat to the public and the investigation remains active.
We have learned the area of Dickey Road, off of Route 949, near Summerville, is blocked off as authorities continue to investigate.
The Jefferson County coroner is on scene, as well as state police.
