First responders from Centre Hall and Pleasant Gap were on scene attending to the student.

Penns Valley Area School District Superintendent Brian Griffith released a statement Wednesday morning on the district’s Facebook page that reads:

“Please keep your thoughts with this family and all those connected.”

Authorities are providing more details on the vehicle versus pedestrian incident in Centre Hall that sent one student to the hospital Wednesday morning.

State police have identified the pedestrian as a teenage male, from Centre Hall.

School district officials previously confirmed that the teen is a student of the Penns Valley Area School District.

Investigators say the incident occurred around 7 a.m. Wednesday when the teen reportedly walked onto the roadway, in the area of the 200 block of Pennsylvania Avenue and Spruce Alley.

Officials say the student was reportedly attempting to get to his bus stop when he was struck by a vehicle that was traveling northbound.

District officials noted in a statement that multiple other students reportedly witnessed the incident.

Troopers say the teen was flown to UPMC Williamsport for treatment of undisclosed injuries.

State police say the investigation is still ongoing.
