Former President Barack Obama issued a glowing statement reflecting on President Biden’s legacy.
The more than 500 word essay looked back at Biden’s decades of public service, including the eight years spent by Obama’s side as Vice President.
He says, quote, I also know Joe has never backed down from a fight for him to look at the political landscape and decide that he should pass the torch to a new nominee is surely one of the toughest in his life.
But I know that he wouldn’t make this decision unless he believed it was right for America. End quote.
Obama’s statement noted that the party will be navigating new territory and did not come out with an endorsement for Vice President Kamala Harris.
