The US Supreme Court has ended Affirmative Action in the college admission process.
Based on recent polling, most Americans support that decision.
A CBS News and You-Gov poll from this month found 70 percent of Americans think the Supreme Court should rule that colleges can’t consider race in admissions.
In another poll by PEW Research center, about 50 percent of US adults say they disapprove of selective colleges and universities taking race and ethnicity into account in order to increase diversity at the school.
One-third approve, and 16 percent are unsure.
Meanwhile, in that same poll, 49 percent said consideration of race and ethnicity makes the overall admissions process less fair with just 20 percent saying it makes it more fair.
